Steel guitarist Neal McCormick recalls his career and his close friendship with Hank Williams. Discussion includes his musical background; his relationship with Williams; hiring Williams, along with Don Helms, Jimmy Bryant, and Speedy West, to work in his band; Hank Williams and Smith Adair performing as Hank and Hezzy; playing Hawaiian music on the steel guitar as the Hawaiian Troubadours; building his four-necked steel guitar; Williams's songwriting and how Fred Rose helped Williams; the latter's fondness for playing practical jokes; Don Helms playing steel guitar; McCormick's Indian heritage; changing to gospel music in 1960; his recordings; writing gospel music with wife Peggy O'Neal; catching rattlesnakes; and how he loves to help other people.
